If only I could! Someone turned on the PlayStation 2 graphics. But here’s the view my wife and I were greeted with last night.
Foggy, cold, and rainy with a hot cup of coffee is legitimately how I could start every day. Dreary weather is my heaven. Anyway, we’re gonna see what that Ublic Market Center is about before we go home.
Funny, last night my wife and I were greeted by the shithole that is SEA, followed by a 45 minute wait for a shuttle to the car rental place. That airport is a joke.
(We’re exploring this part of the country, camping along the way and flying back home from Butte. If we were staying in Seattle we’d just use public transit/taxis)
Couldn’t agree more about the weather, I love the PNW “nice day” of clouds, mist and fog. If you have time, go take a silly picture with the Fremont troll, it’s near Gasworks which is also a spectacular view.
Cool. Go home. We up to our eyeballs with outsiders. Don’t forget to buy a keychain.
spoiler
It’s for keys.
Edit: guys, this is /c/shitpost. I was messing around in the spirit of the community.
Well, I hope you have a better day than you are clearly having.
OP great share and bummer. It is a beautiful city and setting indeed. Nature, just be like that sometimes, as I’m sure you know. Hope the trip was nice regardless.
That acerbic Seattle wit doesn’t do well on Lemmy, unless you’re being catty about some Linux distro
I think they are victim of a missing /s here, I don’t think most posters noticed this was on a shitpost community because the OP is so sincere
eh. looks like a cozy rainy day.
But I don’t know what to do with those tossed salads and scrambled eggs
They’re callin’ again.
Pike Place Market is a very fun labyrinth. If you haven’t already, check out the Gum Wall right next to it, it’s a slightly gross tourist attraction
Getting a pic in front of the gum wall is definitely on the calendar for today.
Check out Golden Age Collectables in the lower levels if you’re into any comics, sci-fi/fantasy, or board games.
And I’m not sure if it’s still there, but Turkish Delight towards the end of the street level has amazing, well, Turkish Delight. And their baklava is delightful, especially pistachio.
Consider lunch at Piroshky Piroshky while you’re over there.
+1 for Piroshky Piroshky!
The Ballard locks and nearby botanical gardens are also pretty cool.
If the weather gets better, you can kayak in lake Union.
This is the perfect weather to kayak tho. Can’t get power scorched by the sun from all angles
As a native, enjoy your stay!
The City hasn’t loaded in yet. Very much agree that foggy days in the PNW are a vibe.
Try and visit one of the underground city tours while you’re there: https://www.beneath-the-streets.com/ http://www.undergroundtour.com/
The first link is the newer tour company, which I haven’t tried myself, but I hear it’s the better experience.
Either way, it’s worth doing it at least once!
Been enjoying it up here, personally. Hope you guys enjoy the stay.
The weather is what made me want to move up here in the first place. Yeah, it gets dark for half the year, but I love the rain and fog, and how it usually doesn’t get to be a million degrees or icy. Plus we have some of the best coffee I’ve ever had.
It’s unbearably foggy and dreary like that 24/7 365. Would not recommend a visit let alone moving to Seattle.
Again: It’s terrible all the time, please stay away.
I love visiting Seattle! My favorite thing to do is get the hell out of Seattle
PNW is Silent Hill irl
