I understood that reference.
Would be funnier if only scalper bought it abs couldn’t unload them.
I had an apartment where the landlord had clearly painted right before I moved in, and had done so with an ungodly thick layer of latex paint. That’s fair enough for the walls… I hope it wasn’t to cover up mold, but he was very thorough. He did paint over the outlets and some hinges too. But even worse he also painted the bathtub/shower combo. Like… the whole thing, including the sloped interior basin of the tub.
Not only is that fucking weird, it’s also a major hazard as ot turns out. Did you know that latex paint is very slippery when wet? I do now. Had to cover the bottom of the tub in adhesive strips of traction tape to not crack my skull open. What’s more, latex paint is not meant to be applied to bathtub, nor is it meant to be bombarded with hot water every day for months on end. So as you can imagine, shortly after moving in, paint would periodically bubble up and chip off
By the time I moved out, a little over a year later, almost all of the paint had peeled off the bottom surface of the tub revealing the heavily lime scale stained surface they tried to cover up. So glad they tried to kill me with a frictionless curved bathtub bottom rather than to replace, properly clean or even just leave the bathtub as is.
Or was absorbed. Returned to the mold from whence she came.
There is a kernal of validity to your point, but let’s not pretend like those things are at all the same. The difference between copyright violation for personal use and copyright violation for commercialization is many orders of magnitude.
Or my favorite class, artificer. :/
I watched like 60 percent of the movie at a friend’s house when I was pretty young. Maybe 8-10 years old? Shit creeped me out so hard. Pretty sure I had a couple fucked up nightmares from it. I’ve thought about going back to watch it as an adult since the cast is so awesome. But I’ve heard it’s still mostly just fucking weird, rather than good. That sound about right?
Don’t conflate a legal problem that is already not taken seriously and addressed enough with another thing entirely. Real wage theft is already illegal and pathways to remedy that wage theft exist as long as people take it very seriously. What is described in this meme is also a problem and also needs addressed. However it is entirely, 1000% legal to keep wages low while you rack in rescord profits, and many capitalists would argue that you should. By conflating an actual legal issue wish a subjective moral one, you make it easier to excuse the legal issue as just another subjective moral issue that can be ignored and exploited.
They are different things that have different remedies and different access to those remedies right now. You’re not strengthening the definition of wage theft to give more power to this new issue. You’re weakening both.
If it’s by a hairs breadth, no. Depends on the specifics
“Just”? Tit for tat is not “just”, revenge is not “just”. Truth and consequences are just. If he actually didn’t win the election and it was truly fraud and cheating that got him the win, then yes, it would be just to bring that truth to light and execute the consequences of that truth. If he won fair and square, pretending like he didn’t is not just simply because he did it before.
Because apparently half of the active voters in this country are either greedy corporate cunts, wealthy sociopaths, MAGA morons, authoritarian Christian ideologue crazies, psuedo-intellectual “centrists”/independents that somehow conflate basic human respect for minorities and outright fascism as “both sides are the same”, or some combination thereof. Those type of people are the type that think the ends always justify the means and that the ends they want is a US that looks like a cross between A Handmaid’s Tale, Atlas Shrugged, and modern day Russia. It is one of the most disheartening realizations of my adult life to learn that so many of my fellow Americans are fucking vile people.
Do keep in mind, that roughly half of voters is not the same as roughly half of Americans. The highest turnout of voting eligible people in the last century was only 66.6% in 2020. Basically every Trump nut votes. It is there entire reason for being these days, to support and vote for Trump. And in 2020, Trump only got 46.9% of the popular vote, i.e. only 33.03% of the US voting eligible actually cast a vote for Trump. The rest of us are either actively trying to stop Trump or are at least not actively supporting him. The absolute BEST thing we can do as a country is to bump those numbers up. There is no excuse for 1 in 3 people to not vote, leaving another 1 in 3 people to have disproportionate power over everyone else’s lives. Complacency and apathy or counting on enough others to do their civic duty so you don’t have to is how Trump wins again. Vote and make every single person you know go vote too. Tell them to register. Tell them to vote early if that is more convenient for them. Whatever. Just go vote.
Embrace the wisdom of the immortal’s experience, you little shit.
little girl cries
Her to her 24 year old activist granddaughter: “You kids need to just shut up. You have no idea how the world works.”
“women are not socialist.”
I’m not sure if that is technically misogyny, but I still want to apologize on behalf of my autofill.
Edit: If I’m more selective about the 3 options autofill gives me, it comes out more complimentary: “women are very nice to see if you want to lighten the world 🌎”
It goes like this, on the the 25th, a minor shock? No, a mortal shift…
Seconded. They are not laughing at your misuse of the word grammatically. They are laughing at the unintentional parallel to the way bigots talk about the people they target with their hate/insults. For a joke, they are twisting the meaning of your words to imply that when you say “those people” you are referring to some minority or marginalized group in a derogatory way. “Those people are loud” is an innocent statement on it’s own when referring to a group of people being disdisruptive. But “Those people are loud” when “those people” refers to an entire demographic of people is a derogatory stereotype. “What do you mean thoooose people?”
