“increase your military power for free”… what’s the portion of the federal budget that is allocated to defense again ?

What is it with Trump and always “being subsidized by us” and “take away from us” while the US has trillions of debt in other countries? 300 billions to my home country alone, which doesn’t even compare to other countries.

Because Trump is a troll. He doesn’t give a shit if what he says or does is correct. Trying to make sense of the schmuck gives me a headache.

He is incapable of understanding mutual trade and cooperation. To him every human interaction must have a winner and a loser. So if Canada is benefiting from trade with the US in his mind it must be at America’s expense. It’s a disturbingly simple view of trade and cooperation, and one that makes actual good faith discourse with the US near impossible.

He trusts that his followers don’t, anyway. Based on some arguments I’ve seen online, he’s right about that.

I mean, he always calls trade deficit a “subsidy”, and has since 2016. I honestly don’t think he understand what that concept means, he’s not that subtle with manipulation.

He keeps referring to the disproportionate US export income to import costs. Something like 2 trillion in exports to 3 trillion in imports. 1 trillion lost from the US every year, and ~30% to Canada that’s his math

                  Oh of course it is.

My problem is that you apparently are one of those “if it isn’t my way it’s the wrong way” kinda guy on this topic.

Anarchism isn’t the only alternative, so to say, and very much not the best one as in reality it won’t scale Because human beings are a bit of a dick, in general. Same goes for communism, it requires you to kill a lot of people and basically become a dictatorship.

I’m very much for a highly limited form of capitalism (which at it’s core isn’t bad, it’s the freedom to freely trade) with loads of laws in place to limit the size of it (no company larger than 1000 employees, no company larger than networth of 50 million, no personal net worth larger than 10 million, that sort of stuff) and loads of taxes to apply those laws (no taxes for the poor, richest pay up to 100% income after certain level, etc, to always make sure nobody gets too rich, too powerful

Is he that dumb or does he just want the other guy to win? I’m pretty sure even he knows that this bullshit is why the other guy now has a chance.

The guy is ranting about a criminal investigation into why his polling numbers are so low. He’s quite literally a demented old man. I think he really isn’t rational enough to see that that he is harming the man he wants to win.

FYI, this is unpopular among Canadian voters. Conservative underdog, tries to deny being a lapdog, or supporting the idea, but this unfiltered BS doesn’t help him. It’s just a sign that Trump is completely out of control surrounded only by people who must restrain themselves on pushback to only far stupider things he might say.

Man, the dumbest thing about this nonsense is repeating that Canada will only be one state. It’s already broken into provinces, dickhead, at least make a better offer than two senators.

#1 Ontario being the population of Pennsylvania

#9 New foundland being the population of Wyoming

#10 Prince Edward Island only has 150k, could lump in 150k from northern territories

20 senators for 40m, 5.0E-7 senators per person

200 senators for 340m, 5.88E-7 senators per person

      It seems pretty fair
