As a massive fan of Age of Empires since the first one, I still cannot believe they re-released them as “Definitive” editions, and then have proceeded to add new DLC to them.

I love the support and attention they’re getting, and the new content they never had before. But I cannot get over adding paid DLC’s to a DEFINITIVE EDITION OF SOMETHING!!!

Wow, I know the saxophone reference but clearly have never heard the actual song. That transition to and from the singer on acoustic is jarring. The sax part is completely out of place in this song, or the singer is. It feels like they put two completely separate ideas together and shrugged.

Piracy is not as nice for average people. It requires effort many won’t want to put in to discover what they want (and not in a shitty quality), and then managing and accessing that which you found takes a lot of effort as well to set up in a manner as easily accessed as a Netflix app.

Most people can’t/won’t bother wasting their time and effort. They’ll just pay for a service for the convenience. And before people interject with their anecdotes, convenience is subjective.

Hahaha laughable. Space Marine 2 had Playstation issues at launch. Not sure if fixed yet. I remember just how literally unplayable Skyrim was on PS3. And so many in-between.

You also get a guarantee that games will never be as cheap on console as on PC. I have been transitioning for years and it’s astonishing how often I see a game for sale on PC for like $2 and on sale on PSN for like $20, or not available on PSN at all. Not to mention less options for modding idiotic design flaws to increase playability. No ability usually to customize controls.

You also likely guarantee you can’t replay that old game from 2002 or whatever yoh might wanna do cause theres very little, if any, backwards compatibility, and if there is, it probably involves re-buying.

Consoles are limited and give a false sense of simplicity and a false sense of being cheaper.

Try Elder Scrolls Online and its own in-game “performance” mode, which is still garbage on PS5 and gets low frame rates.

Who preserves historical artwork? Who makes sure it is available for all to enjoy?

I think governments and nonprofits (like museums) need to consider that archival of an interactive artwork means allowing it to continue being accessible and interactive. That’d be the real preservation.

Laws that say if you create something like this and it reaches some metric, then you are required to turn over all resources regarding it to open source public consumption once you are done actively maintaining it.

Try getting non-playstation games on your Playstation. What about games from older Playstation? Can’t get most of those on there. And let’s not pretend you “own” Playstation games anymore when so many require online and patches anyways.

Steam is more value for money and improved services and support. I used to be a die hard Playstation fan but it got old being treated like shit.

Remember when some top Sony exec said that this generation wouldn’t need a pro, and that that was a unique PS4 generation thing?

Steam keys can be found dramatically cheaper than all of that.

Sony doesn’t put much effort into most things.

I wouldn’t trust Sony to not fuck that up somehow like everything they do.

Cataclysm destroyed Barrens. Maybe WoW Classic has the old Barrens chat though.

It was only obtainable for a short period of time. It was rare and stood out. If you had one, it was something to show off. So they’d literally link it in chat to show off. It turned into a meme of people looking for any excuse to link it. Hence “did someone say…” variants with it linked. Then it went too far and wouldn’t die. Then people without the item would do it without the link. Just got stupid.

It’s always been a slur to differently abled people. Some grow up and go through life hearing it constantly as a way to shrug them off as disposable or something. It’s a way assholes in society treat them like shit.

What’s gone on recently is offensive cause there are real people who through life being called that and other names as a way to disregard them. Having to hear how it’s been openly used lately isn’t great, but people don’t get it. They think some things are harmless merely cause it doesn’t affect them or someone they care about.
