  • I agree. I typically skip sex scenes in movies. Those scenes very seldom add anything to the story imo.

Unless it makes sense. In “What Women Want” with Mel Gibson, I believe that is a great example of a sex scene adding to the movie. The whole premise is him reading women’s minds, so him having sex with Marisa Tomei and hearing their thoughts while in the act added to the premise.

So when I see a movie that is just like “hey these people are hot and we should film them go at it” is just boring imo.

  • Never said it didn’t, but reddit is more left leaning than right as a whole.

Lemmy is just straight lefty though. I’m a liberal person so it doesn’t bother me other than it just being a massive circle jerk most of the time.

Look I understood that when I made that comment no one would like it, but it’s just the truth…

I’ve been here since the API garbage from reddit, and use it daily so I feel like I can make an honest assessment of my experience thus far.

I like it, its great. Better than reddit in a lot of ways. If someone is/was a heavy Reddit user I recommend it.

  • Welcome to Lemmy! If you thought Reddit was left leaning, you’re in for a wild ride!

Also if you’re an American you probably shouldn’t be, because they automatically assume you’re from the Bible belt. They will simultaneously say they don’t care for American politics but then will always be talking about it.

Linux is the best OS just don’t get into it. You better be using firefox. All the niche subs you had on Reddit aren’t here, and you’ll more likely just be blocking communities instead of subbing to anything.

And no one reads the articles, way more than reddit imo

The comments are slightly more interesting though.

It’s not all that bad though, I’m being a little sarcastic, but only a little…

  • Well it’s still JLo. If you aren’t much a fan you won’t be too impressed. Imo she can be fairly one directional in her movies.

That said, when I watch a movie that has heavy CGI I try and take a step back throughout the movie from all the special effects and evaluate an actors performance.

Ya ok sounds pretentious, but I try to imagine the environment they are in when acting. It’s basically nothing but a green box, with someone off to the side reading lines.

If they can give a fairly believable performance I’m impressed, because we see all the special effects, editing, direction and production. The actor has to imagine it, and hope they don’t look like a dumbass in post.

65 was alright. Wanted more dinosaurs though lol
