Do you think Dems aren’t backed by billionaires? Gates, Bezos, Soros, Oprah, the list continues. But what, the single billionaire throwing $$ at the trump campaign is the big evil baddie? Because he has a few more billions?

There is zero proof that he’ll be a dictator. My source is that he was president for 4 years and was not a dictator.
The only thing you’re basing your claim on is an offhand joke he made about fully shutting down the borders on the first day, then opening them back up with better safeguards. If you watch the whole clip, you’ll understand that.
He wasn’t “democratically popular” because the Dems suppressed all support he had. All those news medias that have been hounding on trump being the worst thing since Hitler? Yeah, they used that same power to stifle anyone who had an iota of a chance to get votes
What??? We literally saw democracy play out. You can’t even use the excuse that he lost the popular vote, he won every type of democratic way we have.
You know what wasn’t democracy? Installing candidates into primaries over democratically popular candidates. Hillary in 2016, Biden in 2020 and Kamala in 2024. In every single one of these primaries, they did everything they could to shut down anyone popular who showed any sign of having a backbone, even though they killed democracy as it happened.
What we saw was a backlash to a stifling of democracy. Democracy won last night.
Yeah, old school liberals. Free speech, gun rights, reasonable abortion laws, live and let live, don’t touch the kids, free and fair elections.
Doesn’t get better than that.
Because I look at policy and results. Actual peace, actual economic benefits, and damn, do I love his transition team.
I think the worst thing the Dems did for their party was rig their primaries. Bernie was a big one, I think it would have altered the course of the next few elections for sure. And then when they did it to Tulsi Gabbard and Andrew Yang… and this year to RFK jr…
Whoever is making the controlling decisions behind the party facade wanted puppets instead of genuine leaders, and they chased the good candidates out. The ones who had integrity (Tulsi, RFK), reached out to see what was going on on the other side and found good footing there. I followed.
If I see a clip, I search out the full video for context. If I read a quote, I search out where that quote came from to get context. When context is inserted, it turns out Trump is incredibly decent, and I like it over here.
And bring that spider on, I’ve got a giant-ass lynx cat and a guardian dog, both of which love munching on spiders.
Best answer because even in this thread you’ve been down voted.
I voted for him myself and have for sure been down voted for it on here, over and over again.
Haven’t been banned though, so I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.
Probably not popular around these parts, but I really like Glenn Greenwald.
I was 17 on my last year of trick or treating. If I’m not old enough to sign up to go to war, I’m young enough to trick or treat.
Honestly? Kinda lonely. I’ll be 40 in a few months. I’m a woman, if the perspective matters .
I was engaged to the man I thought I’d marry and have kids with, but it didn’t turn out to be the case, and although I learned how to choose better and what to look out for, I also wonder if I’m ever going to get to have a family of my own. It’s been 6 years now since that fell apart, and I had to do a lot in that time to get back onto my feet, but the few relationships I’ve had since then are fleeting. Men seem afraid of commitment now, and it’s hard not to completely fall to the idea that I’m just too old, which is what society is consistently screaming at me.
I don’t feel old.
I am tired of searching though. At some point I will get to where I’m too old and that makes me sad to think about.
You’re right, but also you’re a perfect example that makes me continue to hold fast to my bikers-are-annoying-get-out-of-the-way mindset
Cycling on the road.
On the one hand, biking is great and they should be able to bike on any road! And we should be careful when driving near them, it’s super scary being so unprotected and so close to metal speed bombs hurling around them.
On the other hand, road bikers are fucking annoying, stay in your goddamn lane and stop slowing down traffic. I’m not reading your dumb hand signals, either!
I’m a whole tomato-eater, and there is a way to eat them without being messy. The mess is divided into chambers, and you basically go one chamber at a time, suck out the mess in the chamber and then move on to the next.
Yes, I care about all of that, and I’ll ask regularly about them and what’s going on.
Yeah, I recently went from a 2005 to a 2018, and even the jump in that was amazing! Bluetooth for music and for phonecalls, it’s changed my driving experience to be a much better one.
Hey, similar to me! I was a veterinarian receptionist for years, then went back to school and got my associates in cad and now I’m a substation designer.
My mom was a speech therapist in schools and my dad was an aerospace engineer. Theoretically they should have a very cushy retirement life. Nope.
I can currently cover a $1000 expense, but if something else happens that costs that much I’ll have to use my credit card, and if a third thing happens I’m fucked.
My relationship with money isn’t good (“not wise” might be a better term), and now that I know my parents as an adult, I understand that both of them are terrible with money. Do I blame them? I try not to, but sometimes that’s hard when I see how they continue to make poor $$ choices. My mom constantly made over 6 figures for a good portion of her later life, but now can’t work, and she has nothing but social security to live off of. Through the years she’s used up all her retirement and savings a few times on things like saving houses she eventually loses anyway.
My dad just dropped the news that he owes 80k to the IRS because he’s been pulling from his retirement for years now to sustain his lifestyle in a high-cost area.
Myself? I didn’t really get my shit together financially until I was in my mid 30s. Mostly my fault, though there were a few things that happened outside of my control that forced me to “start over” financially. That’s life.
My relationship with money now is respectful. I take the time and care to slowly work my way through understanding what to do and how to do it. I only have one credit card and it’s a low amount, so it can’t get wildly out of control but it’s there if I need it.
Right now I’ve got around 1.5k in savings (not including my 401/Roth). My plan is to save up to 10k for an emergency fund and then start to invest what I save up after that.
I listen to a lot of Caleb Hammer on YouTube. It helps, haha.
Of course, I never said you had to continue doing the same job. One that is part time, not stressful, and where your responsibilities are minimal.
Great comeback.
