It’s based on the next book in the series. There is a reason for it to exist beyond making money.
When an original movie or property comes out, nobody goes to watch it. The people complaining about the lack of originality certainly don’t go watch. The last half dozen original movies that Disney has released have bombed, regardless of good ratings. People are paying to see remakes and reboots, which is why they keep making them.
Nobody who complains actually goes to support the original films

We’ve been getting into more robots lately at our place. They have done a great job at creating memeraboe personalities with animated droids.

If you get one of those apps like HBO or Disney plus, you will have like, a catalogue that last years to watch everything
And about the popcorn? Do you realize you can cook that in your home as well right? Now you don’t even need oil, with the air fryers
With the advent of Netflix type apps, you can just do movie nights with your family and friends extremely easy, that’s a plus if you don’t want to spend so much outside
And if you go the selfhost Route, it’s even cheaper
So again why the complains?

The focus is on what is actually showing. We want to see art not this bullshit. And it’s not like streaming services are different in this regard.
That’s why we don’t pay and waste money on streaming sevices either.
It’s nice to go outside sometimes, particularly to movie palaces. I dress up a little and so does my date, and we usually have a fun discussion about the plot afterwards.

I don’t have an answer, but that lil gay robot is all I think about now when I hear September by Earth, Wind & Fire.
The are movies like Never look away(2018), Amanda(2018), Empire of Light(2022) and Perfect Days (2023) that where barely advertised, but worth watching all the way. Still somehow using an old movie or having more super hero is ok.
ITT: movie opinions based on movie advertisements for the circle jerk instead of seeking movie announcements or even, retroactively, awards/nominations. But I get it, you know what the next Superman is going to be so it’s easy to have an opinion on it without seeing it whereas the other half of the movies are original… but risky for your use of time.
Cue complaints about rigged awards stealing from better movies without acknowledging it’s a showdown between multiple original movies.
Cue complaints about popcorn pricing as if you’re forced to eat popcorn and eat popcorn for every home movie
Cue complaints about gross movie theaters as if this is really about the originality of movies instead of a likely attention span issue
