Ok, I’m sorry for this question, and if this isn’t the right community, please let me know where I should ask it.
So a user in a different community is making a big deal about how terrible I am and that I have been “perma-banned” form an instance.
And he posted this screen shot as “proof.”
But I have no indication I have been perma-banned from any communities or instances and never every heard of this unix instance and I don’t even know how to use unix.
I’ve attached a screenshot. Can you guys better explain to me what this means?
And for reference here is the post of him saying it to me: https://lemmy.world/comment/12216663
I legit have no clue what he is trying to imply. Any pointers?
Yep, they clearly went back in time a month to do it too!
Ahh, ok, well he has been following me for a while now and my account is only a month old. But another user said it happens often to new users, so maybe it’s just that.
One, weird that he went into that much detail, when even I don’t know how to see that info and never had any idea. And two, weird how he is laughing about the proof, without showing any actual comments that got me permabanned. But meh, as someone else said, the dude is probably full of shit. And I didn’t even know I was permabanned and never heard of that instance. lol
Thank you for replying. You guys rock!
Yeah I read the thread and saw how you left out the context with the screenshots proving you got permabanned from an entire instance for being “toxic”. The fake sounding comments in your history don’t convince me that’s wrong either. No one repeats themselves so much or says thank you after every interaction… So yeah you’re obviously sus.
Why did you draw attention to all of this here? Did you want sympathy for getting permabanned from an entire instance? You can’t pretend the mod/admin didn’t write “toxic”, it’s right here in this thread too.
I posted the link to the thread though. Also, there is zero instance in my entire posting history of ever ever posting to that community. So I was curious how I could be banned from an instance that I never posted to.
Do you have some information about what I posted that could have gotten me banned? Becuse the only two instances I have posted to are here on .world and just a few on .ml. And I am not banned from either of those
lol yeah, because I say thank you, I’m obviously fake. Ok…
But wait, ,I am talking to you right now. Or am I faking that too? Um…
Because I had a question about what it meant. And I didn’t understand what the user was meaning and I have never even been to the instance that banned me. And I’ve received some helpful answers. After I posted, I realized that it was probably better to send to No Stupid Questions, so I crossposted. I def can see how tech people would be annoyed with my question tho, sorry!
That user just got banned from World News sub and just now had comments removed from the c/politics sub I was talking with I’m in. So now I realize that he’s actually full of shit.
And hey, if you don’t agree, that’s cool too.
Than— oops, sorry! I was just about to say it. Bad habit, I now now!
I don’t believe most people repeat pretty much the exact phrasing over and over and then lead normal lives. A hundred times one can find versions of the above quotes by browsing your history. I won’t respond anymore since it’s obvious this is your MO.
Enjoy the attention others give you!
Well, I mean, I did post a disclaimer right after posting the original article in question, in an effort to deflect this “attention.” Um, didn’t seem to work in that thread in the original community. :/
And I posted here for a technical answer since my posting history shows nothing every posted to the instance (which I’d never even heard of until today) that banned me.
But thanks for your input. I may not agree with it, but I support your right to it.
