Apparently there’s a thing called “linear compensators” which are essentially almost as effective as silencers (when used with subsonic ammo), but don’t require a tax stamp? Someone with more firearms knowledge than I can surely share more details on that. But I came across the things recently and found it rather curious.
LLMs are largely worthless (in the context of improving human society).
Neural Nets aimed at much more specific domains (recognizing and indicating metastases or other abnormalities in pathology slides for human review, for example) are EXTREMELY useful and worthwhile.
A firearm is very much a tool in some non-combat applications. Ranching, for instance.

I want that timeline. Can we please have that timeline?
How’s he gonna Dodge the repo man?
lol nice, another fellow user of the term “meatspace”. I find the term quite self explanatory, but I often have to explain it to people when I allow it into my vernacular.
Like he’s just sitting there on a branch going
They are still bleeding edge. Samsung is making really impressive strides, but TSMC is simultaneously not resting on their laurels.
Their security guarantees involve “we will melt our chip foundries to slag if the PRC invades”. That’s not a joke. That’s an official element of their strategic defense policy. They are pointedly tying the bleeding edge of semiconductor manufacturing - and this, a very fucking big chunk of the global economy - to their sovereignty and territorial integrity. And it’s frankly an extremely shrewd policy.
Hey look this fuckin guy doesn’t understand shitposts! Everyone point and laugh!
And it’s gonna get worse, because it’s a very lucrative industry AND it’s highly effective for propaganda.
The rest of Europe doesn’t seem to agree. So you can shut the fuck up, Orban.
You think that’s a realistic scenario at this point? That’ll never happen. The US is going to leave NATO.
There’s a really easy way for them to get hydrogen bombs, actually: we give them some B61s.
And no, that’s not a joke.
MS will be sued over this and they will lose. This is not an ambiguous case. They fucked up. It’s essentially an unconsentual/unilateral alteration to a contract, which kinda violates the principle of, you know, a contract.
Because Trump is talking to Putin, not Zelensky. And the plan is “Ukraine loses”.
Ukraine’s going to follow through on making a crash nuclear weapons program, and I do believe that they can pull it off.
We’re unfortunately going to do an about-face on supporting them when Trump gets in, and they’re going to have to fend for themselves. Scholz (that cowardly invertebrate) has already reached out to Putin instead of figuring out what to do with France and Poland and the UK in terms of supporting Ukraine.
Ukraine’s only real option for posing a threat credible enough to Russia that they back the fuck off is nukes.
