Honestly, ultrawide for spreadsheets is awesome.
Honestly, ultrawide for spreadsheets is awesome.
I use them all the time, it has its place…but people tend to overuse them.
Nothing worse than someone sending me data as a fucken PDF file. Hey here is a table with a bunch of data, it is spread over multiple pages, and no you can’t get the data as a csv file. Because I want you to spend a lot of time verifying that the data has imported correctly.
I was just about to say that, tis a cursed format.
As someone who deals with lactose intolerance.
Just don’t make it a big deal, if you can’t eat something, don’t eat it. Your needs are important, but other people are equally entitled to their own enjoyment.
I hate vegans who only do it to virtue signal, it is a personal journey keep it that way.
If someone is thoughtful enough to ask about your dietary requirements, they are probably “good people” and won’t care about it. They will just make allowances for you.
An anecdote about dietary requirements:
I have a sister in law who cannot eat onions/garlic/leeks etc… she does make a big deal about it, no dishes can have those ingredients when she is around.
Her intolerance is about at bad as mine, she gets bloated and gassy… So not dangerous, just uncomfortable.
It always feels difficult to deal with. My view is, if you want to make potatoes with cream sauce, enjoy it I’ll eat something else.
Great comment.
I switched full time in 2010, but was mostly using Linux from 2008…I don’t really miss my 20’s, maybe the physical side of being sub-30.
It this similar to “disk usage analyser”?
I hate that windows doesn’t have something like this built in.
Agreed, the already has my old laptop which he uses at home sometimes.
I really just want to be able call him when he and his friends are away from the house.
But also have some apps like signal, and a chess game. The Wikipedia app… There really is a lot of good stuff available.
No social media, no unsupervised internet.
I totally hate aphantasia.
I was in hospital earlier in the year for surgery, they gave me ketamine afterwards…started seeing shit.
It was weird.
Hated it for the dissociative effect; but the seeing shit for a few hours after was strange, but ok.
Having the ability to see images in my mind. Sounds like a cool ability, not sure if it would be a curse though.
Now I feel inadequate, I have only been online since 87.
I also hadn’t seen this.
All I read was “natural hangi pit”
We have those all around where I live.
Ok firstly.
Never, work on anything that is still connected to a power supply.
This includes any stored energy. Isolate it first. Gravitational, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and chemical (if possible).
Don’t fuck with stored energy.
Secondly.
Learn how to test if things are live, or have any stored energy.
Thirdly.
Once you KNOW you are safe. Go hard, learn all you can.
It is a combination of this and the power of propaganda.
When you can control the information that people consume, you can have a huge influence over what they think.
If you can influence the thoughts of a big portion of the populous, you can create control structures. You use these control structures to move people into their emotional decision making more often. The more often you can keep people in their emotional decision mode, the easier you can control what they do.
The thing is, the easiest way to keep people in their emotional thought mode, is to pull the fear and anger levers. Keep people afraid and angry, and you can steer society.
The other problem with this is, the people who see through this kind of thing are not the majority.
The people who can see through the techniques, are not always the traditionally “smart”; but higher intelligence is certainly an advantage.
To quote a non-computer savvy friend from a few years ago. When he was talking to someone else, I just over heard the conversation.
Na, I use VLC player. It always works, it will play a slice of cucumber.
Auckland is the definition of sprawl.
A bunch of laws were past on the last few years to combat it, but we find see the effects for decades to come.
Well it is nice to have a sign to tell me where to go. Weird that it is in the OB ward though.
So this is why FOSS software is often faster, no traffic jams.
I tried Kimchi and lamb burgers they are delicious.
