Corporations aren’t people
That’s just a saying.
Don’t they just slap a custom configured dosbox in the folder and point to it for launch? Could just strip out dosbox and have the thing.
Currently I still find it too much of a hastle to correctly run Winblows applications, almost always relying on Lutris, Steams proton or Bottles to do the work for me.
That’s…uhhh… that’s why they were made? So that your average Joe Schmoe, like myself and you, doesn’t have to muddle through trying to get wine set exactly right so that the windows program functions. It sounds like you’re complaining about the solution to the problem.
I guess there could be work done to just make it so if you double click on a .exe install file in just boots whatever has the best install preset, or give you a pop up with options for lutris/proton/bottles.
By turning the US government and economy into a nuke, and collapsing the whole country… probably.
In the UK you’re limited to 32 pills of paracetamol(acetaminophen in NA) per purchase. Less if they’re high dose.
Thanks Bethesda…
It’s really unfair. The older we get, the faster time seems to pass, and the less we have to spare. If we’re lucky, maybe we can get 15 or 20 years at the end to enjoy our labour…most of us will be too banged up from the grind to enjoy it.
✊🤜🤛 the struggle is real fam
I also love to fiddle, but the ADHD steers the ship a lot, and so I sometimes end up bricking my install… I’d say it’s a thing I’m working on, but you seem nice…and I’d hate to lie to you.
Or had a lot of time, and have streamlined their setup to the point that they don’t spend nearly any time on the fiddly bits, because they now have next to no time.
Depends on what medium it’s on. Some are far better than others, so as a generalisation I said what I said. A majority of folk these days, when they think digital media storage, think solid state. Which is, in fact, not suited for long term storage. A piece of paper stored correctly is going to outlast a usb drive, SD card or SSD.
The possibilities are endless.
I gotta get offline now. This morning hasn’t been too great for my mental health.
I’m pretty sure lots of people can’t stop thinking about P25…
It’s all hypothetical for now. But with control of the house and senate, there’s not a single thing actually stopping them as long as the rank and file of the GOP stay in line and push everything through. Hopefully there’s enough liberal and further left inclined “Well organised militias” to fight back against anything super fashy…
As @hollyberries pointed out, archive’s servers are on American soil, if there’s a federal ban on improper(“fake”) knowledge, their assets could easily be seized. No laws would have to change from today for them to do this, they’d just have to think up a somewhat reasonable excuse…
And also good to keep in mind is that digital storage is volatile. Yes it’s impractical to have a few terabytes printed out, but if stored properly, it’ll last longer than digital media storage.
Another thing to consider:
If things go full on crazy, like they seem likely to do, being in possession of improper knowledge could be a capital offence when the thought police come knocking.
They’re trying to get a backpedal on the “no insulting the Russian people for their government’s actions” rule
Oh…you know 😏
