or she has a significant Indian population in her district.
I’m in her district. No, we don’t have a significant Indian population here. It’s 68% white, and another 25% split between black and hispanic.
I’ve never really been on 4chan for any length, but I remember some of their greatest hits- managing to almost win a contest to name the next mtn dew flavor ‘hitler did nothing wrong’, or that one time they got Taylor Swift to do a show at a school for the deaf.
Kinda edgy, extremely amusing.
Yeah, I don’t like Linus all that much but I do enjoy LTT’s content overall. He tends to drastically and publicly overreact to literally any criticism, and then the rest of the team gets involved and he walks it back. Whether they legitimately change his mind or just convince him he’s gotta look like he’s changed his mind I have no clue.
My favorite instances of Linus are when he’s an absolute idiot on the WAN show and we just get to see Luke’s reaction live. The hard-r thing was absolutely hilarious.
In 2022 he tweeted this.
That might be what you’re remembering, but he’s definitely addressed his views on piracy during the WAN show several times as well.
Edit: someone else posted the full context elsewhere in the thread. I’d link to that comment, but idk how on lemmy so here: https://archive.ph/VavFc
No. The owner of the media has already been paid in both of those scenarios. It makes zero difference to them whether you’re watching the ads.
Adblocking, on the other hand, is actively hurting the owner of the media because they get paid based on how many ads they can serve. If you block the ad, it isn’t served, and they don’t get paid.
Personally, I definitely think it’s piracy. I also still do it.
That’s some 40k shit.
“What does it mean?” “I do not know, but it appeases the machine spirit. Quickly, recite the canticles.”
That’s kind of arbitrary, isn’t it?
To me, being a good person extends to doing good while hopping on one leg.
That’s ridiculous, right? That’s obviously a definition of ‘good’ I’m creating, and choosing to impose on myself. Which is exactly what you’re doing. Yours is just less ridiculous.
No. The US doesn’t care if the terms are consecutive or not, it’s a hard limit of two terms.
Nixon was impeached for deleting 8 minutes of his own personal audio recordings… as those records were subpoenaed, because you can’t keep any kind of private records of you conducting government business….
That is such a gross oversimplification of why Nixon was impeached I don’t even know where to start.
Installed, I love all the themes! Thanks!
I’m really enjoying it quite a lot- I first played around a20, and then I picked it up again recently.
It isn’t a perfect game, but it’s a pretty decent experience that’s very unique.
I don’t think it’s worth $45. That seems a bit excessive. $20 or maybe even $30? Sure.
With that said, I haven’t followed the game’s development at all really. I could see a bunch of broken promises causing some completely understandable frustration with the devs.
To first clarify this community, it’s not “don’t ask stupid questions” its “there are no stupid questions”. In other words, ask that thing you’ve wanted to know but feel dumb for not knowing. It’s fine- there’s no stupid questions.
AskLemmy is more centered on asking other (lems? Lemians? Lemmers? I have no idea what we call each other.) questions specifically. A question for asklemmy would be something like, “How do you all feel about x?” It’s more of a general question and answer forum where the question is sometimes less important than the discussion that it causes.
I think he’s saying that if the potatoes are both firm and canned, it’s because of some crazy chemicals. Not just canned goods = chemicals.
Why he thinks you can’t can firm potatoes without chemicals? I have no clue.
Yeah I gotta get some of that. Sounds pretty good.
Then I guess we’re talking about at least… three(?) unrelated types of food that are called potato salad.
The civilised side and the vinegar people
I love how clearly this second sentence displays which of the two sides you are.
I, for one, am not a fan of “proper” potato salad because I dislike mayo.
I’ve never had this stuff, but it sounds much more interesting to me.
That’s the point. You can’t really build an advertising profile if they literally engage with every single thing all the time.
