Exactly you can use the railing to hang on the outside. Greater speed and much more fun.
Lemmygrad and Heybear both defederated from other lemmy instances. It is deliberatly its own little network. Both used to be reddit communites, with a long list of enemies for being tankies, so they like the isolation. Other then that I bet lemmy.ml has a lot of the same userbase.
The Brazilian Gripens were $86million per plane. Sweden just gave Ukraine a $400million military aid package. They are also an EU member and that allows them to use EU military funds for EU made weapons. So you probably could get 10planes or so going to Ukraine.
Obviously weapons matter as well, but those are not Swedish made, but German and American. No reason the US can not finance some Sidewinders for Ukraine for example.
There are a lot of people, who do not care about politics at all and maybe just go and vote in the next election. Please do not underestimate how little the average voter cares.
Language barriers. German feddit.org and Italian feddit.it are also outside. Partly that also might be a country thing. aussie.zone is also a bit outside. The other big group are defederated communities like lemmynsfw, lemmybear and hexbear.
Slrpnk is most English and many topics are relativly intressting to none instance users. So you get that. Besides a bunch of more solarpunk specific communities that is.
So federation seems to work rather well.
Gripen is designed to be easy to maintain and use roads as runways, which makes it better for Ukraine then F16. However the production line is not as strong and most users will not send theirs to Ukraine. The only NATO users are Sweden, Czechia and Hungary. Hungary is not going to send any and Czechia has 14 leased ones. So only Sweden might actually be able to spare some.
2months ago CovertCabal did a video counting the tanks Russia has left in storage. He came to 700 good conditioned tanks. Obviously Russia still has a lot more in service. However Oryx has Russian tank losses at 3368 tanks and the offical Ukranian estimates are at 8639 so even higher. The truth is probably somewhere between those two numbers.
However whatever it is, it shows that Russia just can not sustain those kinds of losses and they have to be more careful. Good news for Ukraine.
Oh sorry, Jerboa does not seem to implement that.
There is a cross post function in lemmy.
Yeah to spy on the others for Russia. Hungary is blocking every single sanction package on Russia. They do not send aid to Ukraine at all and even block aid shipments through Hungary. They also blocked Swedens NATO membership for ages.
That is not making loud noises, that is being a Russian puppet.
Russia only has $31billion worth of Yuan left in the national wealth fund, which also acts as the reserve of the Central Bank. So needing to sell $7.3billion worth of Yuan to stabalize the Rubel is quite a large burden and with it seeming to be too little, this is a giant nightmare for Russia.
The problem is not if Putin can finance the war, but how much and what he has to cut to do so. That is going to massivly increased the felt burden for the average Russian in the coming months.
The tankies often also get money from Russia. It is pretty easy to spot. If they do not attack the far right, they get money from Moscow.
done thanks
Seriously that is actually a problem. The gold is worth $23.7billion or so. Some of the rest will be in RMB, but I can not tell how much. Russia can always print Rubel and force its industry to take it.
You only need those soldiers, when you want to control, which targets Ukraine can strike. Otherwise it would be possible to train up Ukranians to do it
However given that Ukraine is on record to have blown up Nord Stream, which has obvious value to Germany as well, this is highly unlikely to happen. Taurus could also be used to strike Germany from Ukranian aerospace after all.
KA-52 cost 20million, but offers fairly little which could not be had for less using drones or artillery and fighter planes are not much more expensive, but are more capable.
