We can fight them, but ultimately these companies have the control. They can enrich and empower, and there’s probably not a lot we can ultimately do about it. When the chips fall, I’d rather they just stay on a sub and endlessly echo chamber themselves into oblivion. Then just go to a different Instance. I agree the powermods are a headache, but at least with Lemmy they have way less power. You can start a new sub with a matching name on a different Instance, and draw people away from the power mods. People get pretty sick of the power mods, pretty fast.

It’s so much better. Personally I don’t hope it grows much either. Satisfies my content itch, have still had some good quality convos here, seen some great comments threads. Absolutely none of the bullshit that Reddit purposely encourages. Plus most of the zeebs and the chronically offended seemed to have stayed with reddit, and I’m super OK with that.

Also $700 isn’t going to buy you much of a PC if you don’t have one already. Maybe mid spec 1080p.

Not that I’m arguing for PC. I’m pro-console in most circumstances. Only for power modders, power gamers or power purchasers would I maybe argue that PC is the better route. Everyone else, console 100% (except this joke of a console).

The ICC doesn’t have jurisdiction over civil matters. The ICC only has jurisdiction over the most egregious of war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide, on a voluntary transnational basis (you have to be a signatory country, which I believe Argentina is).

I might be in the very minority crowd here, but I just can’t get used to Firefox. I mean once upon a time I was clinging to Netscape screaming foul at Internet Explorer too, old habits die hard. But Chrome just clicks for me, whereas the multiple times I’ve tried Firefox, it just doesn’t click for me. Can’t put my finger on it.

I’m not. I’ll just wait for the playoffs, as the regular season is next to pointless, and the rules all change in the playoffs. So it’s pretty much meaningless, other than making the playoffs. If I was an NHL GM, especially a Canadian one, that would be my prime focus. Just do well enough to make it, and find a way to stash a whole bunch of studs on the IR, until just before the playoffs. And be way over cap.
