    Im embarrassed how long it took me to get the first panel. Im like, why did she take him to the vets house instead of his office? What if the kitty needed a shot? Lol, im baked.

      Pretty sure the Veteran suicide rate is actually lower*.

      *Not an actual statistic, I didn’t look it up, it’s probably false.

        Nah you have a point. The suicide rate for veterinarians is really high compared to the general population. I got curious so I looked it up. Didn’t find any hard numbers, but a CDC study on veterinarians said males are 2.1 times more likely to commit suicide and females are 3.5 times more likely, versus the general population.

        The veteran numbers I found used percentages and more granular metrics such as age, but it looks like generally the risk doesn’t exceed double the national average (except in the 18-34 age group), and the age and sex-adjusted rate was 72% higher than national average.

        I’m not the best at math so if someone could double check me that’d be awesome, but it looks like veterinarians do have higher suicide rates than veterans.
