The US is “with” Ukraine and any deal to end the fighting with Russia should ensure there is no “next war”, President Donald Trump’s special envoy for Kyiv and Moscow has said.

There are concerns among Ukrainian officials, however, that General Kellogg - who was not part of a top-level US delegation that held a landmark meeting with Russian officials in Saudi Arabia to talk about an end to the war - has been sidelined by the White House.

It’s all so fucked up. Seemingly this Gen. Kellog stands with Ukraine, and also quite a few Senators, even Republicans ones.

I saw them speaking on TV in favour of supporting Ukraine at the Munich Security Conference. Afaik, this doesn’t mean that these Senators can block Trump, but they seem to have (some) influence.

I’m quite sure Gen. Kellogg genuinely supports Ukraine, but he has been played by trump. Looks like he was placed so the pro Ukrainian senators would confirm his appointments. As soon as Gabbard was confirmed it turned that Kellogg has no real position as he wasn’t even invited to the meeting in Saudi Arabia.

He likely will be fired soon as he is no longer useful to trump.
