Russian defense budget is around 145 billion next year. The Soviet Union lost the cold war by bankrupting themselves through the military.
Economically the EU is 10 times larger than Russia… so if they spend 35pct on defense… we only need to spend 3.5pct and dump as much of that into Ukraine… it will be easy to maintain… and a hell of a lot cheaper than dealing with prolonged consequences.
