We drove across country with the entire Disney song collection on cassette in the early 90s.

They are all ingrained in my brain.

I wonder how much smart shit I can’t remember because I can sing all the aristocats songs.

It’s been that long? My sister has a 5yr old and a 4yr old that I babysit on the weekends and I made the mistake of showing them The Nightmare Before Christmas last year. For my sister and I it was our Christmas movie and I wanted to continue the tradition.

I only see my nieces for two days out of every week, but over the last year I’ve seen that movie so many times that I frequently wake up with “This is Halloween” stuck in my head or catch myself humming “Oogie Boogie’s song.”

I keep trying to show them other movies but it’s seemingly the only thing they want to watch, and they’re so polite about it that it’s basically impossible to say no. I keep hoping they’ll grow out of it or find something else, but it seems like I’m stuck watching this one movie forever.

Its because they are now very into magic school bus (the original), Wall-E, and Aristocats. They only get movies the two days my wife works during the week, and a few hours on the weekend.

They will likely cycle back in another week or so, that repeat obsession and rotate is fully expected.

And Nightmare Before Christmas is a solid choice! During the holidays I have different playlists of related movies, so we mostly do those - Nightmare Before Christmas gets to be in the Halloween and Christmas playlist so it gets extra playtime.

I kinda feel bad for this, but “um actually”…

    sigh

When Cruella goes to buy the puppies there were only about 6 puppies. This was the inciting incident that made her lose her shit and start kidnapping puppies from all over. Cruella is the one who gathers the 101 puppies together.

Doesn’t he start sweating and patting his brow, or faints or something? I can hear him yelling “fifteen?!” but you may have Mandala’d me

From memory, the count starts at 8, then it goes up and up to 15, when the last puppy apparently dies, but with some massaging comes back. I think it was Pongo that got weak on the legs with a dumb smile. Talking about the original cartoon movie anyway, I much preferred it over the live action

Perdita and Pongo had 15 puppies with no spots, which Cruella proceeds to dognap, she actually buys the other 84, and IIRC she attempted to buy the original 15 puppies, but almost backed out since she didn’t know rhat dalmatians are born without spots. Totally not defending that psychotic bitch here. Just trying to get the facts organized.

anyone remember that time the 101 Dalmatians had a sequel that included evil invading aliens and dogs saved humanity by going with them to their planet leaving the world sad and depressed because all the dogs were gone?
