There is a huge polarization in Georgia afaik, the current government is enacting authoritarian and right-wing policies. Keep in mind that while a huge part of the population wants to be close with the EU against Russia, it’s also a quite conservative country.
EU’s attention in the region has shifted to Armenia in recent years.
I don’t think Georgia will get much support from the EU with such laws. Last I remember, the Georgian people really wanted their country in the EU.
