One that comes to mind for me: “Whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger” is not always true. Maybe even only half the time! Are there any phrases you tend to hear and shake your head at?

      The system is still broken. Expecting one or two to fight against a broken system just to prove one cop is good is hardly an argument for cops supporting a system that only rewards corruption. It’s not about giving medals and a pat on a head. It’s about reform.

      So long as they benefit from supporting a bad system: they are bad.

      When a cop is completely out of line, no colleagues step in and government prosecutors do nothing, that system is implicated.

      When a cop does intervene and are harassed and fired for it, that system is implicated.
