They have excellent iced tea, too. They’re sweetened with agave nectar, so the whole 20 ounce can only has like 6 grams of sugar and isn’t too sweet.

Liquid Death isn’t bottled, it’s canned. They’re whole gimmick is “death to plastic” which is a little ironic considering that aluminum cans have a plastic lining.
Still, it’s a great product. They’ve eliminated 99.9% of the plastic, so I think the slogan still works.
I wear Bedrock sandals as often as I can. I only switch to shoes when the temp won’t be going above 50 for the day. Previously I have always worn Xero shoes, but I was thinking about replacing them with a Lem shoes/boots. I like Xero, but they’re a little too minimal for a lot of conditions. I’m hoping Lem have a slightly thicker sole.

I don’t care for their sound at all, but am routinely forced to listen to it in stores. I resent being forced to listen to music, but don’t hate the bands themselves.
The stores who play ten songs on a loop can go fuck themselves, however.

Call of Duty sales suggest this isn’t happening.
I wasn’t suggesting we become violent yet, I was just answering your question. The population is definitely large enough for these protests and a violent revolution if it’s ever required.
Fair enough. I work weekends so I haven’t been able to attend any of these yet, and was surprised I can finally go to one. You seem to base your opinions on first hand experience.
Hmm. Yeah, maybe. It just seems too easy to ignore the weekend protests. Everyone who has power and money are elsewhere on Saturdays.
50 million? The population of the US is something like 340 million and there are more guns than people in this country.
They’re finally doing one on a weekday? Excellent. I like the concept of these protests but they seem so trivial when they involve people pretty much just hanging out with signs in front of empty government buildings. Having it on a weekday means disrupting business and work schedules. Don’t let them ignore you.
No, they need to be on weekdays. They need to disrupt business and be visible. Weekend protests in front of empty government buildings are worthless.
ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zipto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Costco changed the bag to plastic!!0·28 days agoOkay, so this one frisbee company disputes the countless articles published with sources about how plastic degrades when it’s recycled and… you expect me to just go with that instead of NPR articles.
I doubt the demand for frisbees is high enough to be an encompassing solution for our plastic problem, but I like the idea.
ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zipto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Costco changed the bag to plastic!!0·28 days agoI would think that could work from a structural point of view, but they would have to seal it somehow to prevent more microplastics from being created. Plastics aren’t often used as a building material because of toxic off-gassing, but of course this would be outside which would mitigate the issue.
Asphalt is one of the most recyclable materials in existence, when they tear up an asphalt road they just melt it down and pour it back on. If there was plastic involved it would probably interrupt this process.
But I’m not expert. Maybe it would work.
ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zipto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Costco changed the bag to plastic!!0·28 days agoUh huh. I have also watched videos and read articles supporting what I just said. Scotch tape is a great example because it’s so brittle… almost useless for any application other than temporarily taping paper to something. It shows how weak plastic gets when it’s recycled.
ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zipto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Costco changed the bag to plastic!!0·28 days agoInto what? Scotch tape? 2 by 4’s for decking material? One can only make so much of those things before the low demand is met.
Like I said, almost none of it gets recycled because the resulting products are too weak. Not only that, but plastic “recycling” is one of the primary ways that micro plastics get into our bodies.
https://arstechnica.com/science/2023/05/yet-another-problem-with-recycling-it-spews-microplastics/
ObtuseDoorFrame@lemmy.zipto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Costco changed the bag to plastic!!0·28 days agoNo. This is a myth perpetuated by huge companies who create a lot of single use plastic.
There isn’t a type of plastic in existence that can be recycled without degrading in quality. A plastic bottle cannot be used to create a new bottle. This is why less than 5% of plastic waste is actually recycled.

Yeah! All aluminum cans have a thin plastic lining. So do soup cans. They’re still both better than plastic packaging, but it just shows how difficult it is to completely remove plastic from your life.
I drink a lot of beverages that come in aluminum cans so I am reaaaally hoping that they have less microplastic risk than 100% plastic packaging does.
