      Not in all situations are people totally choosing to do this kind of stuff, and often not for the risk but an interesting dsstination. We don’t really have the means to safely get everywhere, yet. Even driving on normal roads isn’t without some lethal risk.

          Between how long they had known each other at that point and the situation Kirk was in, I find calling him “Doctor McCoy” very jarring.

            It was the very beginning of a movie that not everyone had seen the prequel to. If it had been a TV episode, Kirk would’ve just said “bones”
